The Kingdom Must Survive

The old hag handed Sir Adam the strange necklace. His quest was not yet done — he only needed to return the Scroll of Power to his king, which he had stolen from the hag’s possession. He knew he would be rewarded with great riches, but for some reason, as he turned to leave the cave, he found his exit blocked by the hag.

“You steal from me and expect me to just let you leave? You can have your scroll, but it comes with a price. Put this on, and I shall reveal all,”

The old hag threw a strange necklace at him. He caught it, and despite his protest, he placed it on — he needed to get out of this cave. The king was desperate for this scroll, and had told him to do anything to get it back.

Instantly, he felt his skin burn. He watched as his armour melted away, his chest swelled, and his frame shrank. His muscle mass melted, his hair grew longer, and his entire body felt aflame.

“What have you done, hag?!”

As he shouted, his deep voice shifted into a higher pitch. When the burning stopped, he looked down to see a pair of massive breasts. He grabbed them, his long hair spilling over his shoulders.

“You turned me into a woman!”

The hag laughed. Adam yanked off the necklace, but nothing happened — he remained in his new form.

The evil hag cackled as she watched Sir Adam struggle.

“Swap me back! I need to deliver the Scroll of Power to the king — he needs it for the kingdom to survive! How can I be a Knight of the King’s Guard like this?!”

The hag did not answer. She simply laughed, and Adam, growing frustrated, walked toward her, demanding she reverse whatever magic she had used.

“Such a beautiful body,” she said. “Why swap back? I have made you the ideal woman for the king. If you return the scroll to him, he will fall in love with you and want you to be his wife. Or don’t — and watch your beloved kingdom crumble. For if you break the vows of marriage in any way, the power of the scroll will fail your kingdom.”

And with that, she vanished.

Adam decided he had no choice but to return to the king with the Scroll of Power. After managing to find some clothes, he journeyed back to the castle and presented the scroll. The king was delighted — and Adam could see by the way he looked at him that the hag’s words were true.

Three weeks later, Adam was to be married to the king. He could not refuse the proposal; he feared that if he did not go along with it, disaster would follow. He had sworn to protect the king and the kingdom.

After the wedding, he lay on the king’s bed. It was time to consummate the marriage and begin his new life — as Queen Amy.
